Author Biography

  • Moses M Thiga (Ed), Egerton University

    Moses M. Thiga is a dynamic leader and researcher in ICT, presently serving as the Director of ICT at Egerton University and as the Founder and Executive Director of the Savannah Digital Research Institute. He belongs to the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and sits on the Boards of Data Science Africa and the Anza Village. Holding a Ph.D. in Information Systems, he has substantial experience in developing and executing ICT strategies, managing projects, and shaping policies.

    Dr. Thiga is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the European Business Institute, where he teaches courses in deep learning, data science, and AI. His research interests centre on harnessing AI, IoT, and data science to create impactful solutions in maternal healthcare, education, agriculture, and climate change. He boasts a strong track record in research leadership, having coordinated centres for Health Informatics Research, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Thiga is also deeply committed to mentorship, guiding students and faculty in research, innovation, and grant writing.

    A prolific author and editor, Dr. Thiga has published numerous books, book chapters, and peer- reviewed articles. He actively contributes to the academic community through editorial roles in several journals. His expertise is also sought in consultancy, particularly in the areas of e-learning,

    ICT for agriculture, and digital talent development. Dr. Thiga’s commitment to innovation and research has earned him several grants and awards, underscoring his significant contributions to the field.
